One year on after #metoo the new Swedish comedy series #Flickstreck premiered on Comedy Central where comedians Elin Almén and Josefin Sonck share their own personal experiences of sexual assault. In the two episodes we follow how they take the matter into their own hands by taking revenge on men who have assaulted them in the past.
As comedians, it just came naturally for Josefin and Elin to make a comedy series fashioned from their own personal experiences
– Creating Flickstreck together with Comedy Central has been really liberating. This is our way of creating gold out of poo, said Josefin and Elin.
The comedians are not unfamiliar faces, in 2018 Josefin was named ”årets nykomling” at the Swedish Standup gala. BothJosefin and Elin are regularly heard on the radio and seen in different stand up-clubs around the country.
For Comedy Central there was never any question of working with the two comedians.
– When Elin and Josefin came to us with their idea we did not hesitate to go for it. To have the courage to highlight serious issues in a comic context is a part of Comedy Central’s DNA and constant through almost all of our shows, from South Park to The Daily Show. We are now proud to also be a part of telling Elin and Josefin’s story, said Markus Wiklund Ferrer, Marketing Manager at Comedy Central.
